From a Friend - Tilda's box
Hello everyone, here is something I did purely for fun and because I need a little Tilda love every so often; it was also a chance to play with my favourite colours of the moment: greens, blue-greens, pale turquoise, and pastel blues. I made a box with a lid, covered the sides in some hand-stitched pearlescent embossed paper in pale turquoise and made a little handle for the front using some script-covered paper and 2 pearl brads.
The top is made from a couple of large die-cuts in turquoise and green, and an oval made from some polka-dot paper and a floral oval die. A stripey tag is hiding behind the oval, and to this I attached some green gauzy fabric which I frayed. All papers, layers, the handle and the box edges were inked up using fluid chalk ink pads. Other embellishments are roses from my stash, liquid pearls all round the edge of one of the layers, and a gold bow to match the bows in Tilda's hair and the bow on her present.
All the sides are covered in pearlescent embossed papers which I handstitched and then inked around the edges |
The sentiment "From Your Friend" was made by me using Word and Paint, and printed onto Saf-Mat then adhered to the polka-dot oval.
I'd like to enter this in a few challenges:
Simply Magnolia - Fancy Folds & Friendship (my box has a total of 16 folds!)
TOMIC The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge - Anything Goes
Sir Stampalot - Bingo (Ribbon/lace - Polka Dots - Green) (golden brown ribbon, polka dots on oval diecut, green gauze and pale green shaped mat)
Crafts & Me - Pearls & Roses
Crafty Cardmakers - No cards, tags or ATCs

This was so much fun to make, despite several mishaps and technological issues along the way! And if you like the colouring of the hair, then check back soon because I'll have a step-by-step picture tutorial for how I achieved the curly-haired effect.
Thank you very much for dropping by today, have a lovely day.
